The
Story A mysterius, handsome man is enchanted by a coy mermaid. She sings to his heart a Rebetiko with the words of alanguage unknown to both. Their
love is frustrated by mutual prejudices. The young woman from Chios and
the deaf and mute "Kayikci" from Cesme, the two so close yet so distant
coasts of the Aegean... Against the tragi-comic turbulence around, will
the sea inbetween become a shelter for the two lovers... "With their lives, hopes and dreams, Aegean people are so similar to each other. But we have come to a critical point where the balance between "neighbour" and "enemy" is highly volatile. I believe that love is a healing power of humanity. Are we capableenough to experience it?"
